I'm going to haunt you
A few years ago…2005 in fact I loved this particular song on the radio ‘I’m Going to Haunt You’. Every time I heard it on JJJ I’d listen for the name but could never catch it. The busyness of life distracted me from finding the album and years slipped by. However recently I find myself humming the song to myself. It drove me crazy not knowing who it was, so online I went.
I searched the Hottest 100 lists around 2004-05 and low and behold the song was voted in as #100 in 2004. So I finally discovered the mystery artisit, I have discovered Fabienne Delsol! I now have the album ‘No Time For Sorrows’ and it’s brilliant! I know I shouldn’t do this, but I have pretty well much played it constantly since Friday. It’s a mixture of 60’s girl pop and a bit of grit. Fabienne a French singer living in London. She has an interesting music history being a member of the Bristols in the late nineties. She’s on the record label ‘Damaged Goods’ and joined with one of my fav’s Holly Golightly.
Apart from the obvious single, the stand out tracks are ‘Laisse Tomber Les Filles’ (Drop the Girls) ‘Chills and Fever’ and ‘Pied Piper’. She sounds somewhere in between The Ronettes, Detroit Cobras and early Rolling Stones.
